Hondo – A Classic Western Movie

A 1952 Western film based on the short story The Gift of Cochise by Louis L’Amour that was filmed in the Mexican desert state of Chihuahua. It was directed by John Farrow AND John Ford (although no credit was given to him). It is the story of an army scout who discovers a woman and her six-year-old son living in the midst of warring Apaches and becomes their protector.
Dr. Andrew P. Nelson, Chief Curator, will add context and engage the audience with discussion and Q&A.
