The West in Miniature

On view through December 2026.

Welcome to a Museum in Miniature!

This gallery is filled with tiny treasures — each one a scaled-down window into the art and culture of the American West. For years, these small objects were either overshadowed by larger artworks on our walls or hidden away in storage. Now they finally get the spotlight they deserve.
Miniatures have long fascinated makers and viewers alike. They invite us to look closer. They reward our curiosity. They shrink vast landscapes, towering figures, and sweeping traditions down to a size you can hold in your hand — or study through a magnifying glass.

Some miniatures were created for play. Others were made for prayer, display, or sheer technical delight. Here you’ll see tiny paintings, sculptures, ceramics, carvings, and more — organized not by size or date. but by the stories they tell. It’s an entire museum, shrunk into a single gallery.

So grab a magnifying glass and explore some of Western Spirit’s tiniest yet lightest masterpieces!
