Join author and Colorado River historian, Tom Martin, as he shares stories of Otis “Dock” Marston who went on his first river trip in the Grand Canyon in 1942. Dock rowed through Glen, Cataract, Lodore, and the Grand Canyon, as well as the Snake and Salmon rivers in the Pacific Northwest. He participated in the one and only jetboat trip that ran upstream through the Grand Canyon powering up the rapids. Tom will share historic film clips from the 1940s through 1960. Volume 1 covers Dock’s life and the parallel lives of all those who ran the river until 1960, the year of the jet boat uprun. Tom is writing Volume 2 that will cover the rest of Dock’s life.
