Homeschool Day: Water Is Life!
Calling all homeschool families! We are excited to invite you to our newest summer homeschool program, themed Water is Life! Join us for a day of learning about our precious compound, H2o, through cultural connections, conservation awarness, geographical lessons and Western fun!
Explore eight exciting stations relating to water’s role in Arizona and the American West:
- Colorado River and the Grand Canyon
- Arizona canals
- Steam engine storytelling and 3-D model and demonstration
- Hydro-electricity storytelling and 3-D model and demonstration
- Weeping Wall – Condensation
- Hopi-Farming water resources – compare and contrast
- Bio-swale station
- Lakes in Arizona
Additionally, special guest Mike Buchheit will be also onsite! Author, landscape and wildlife photographer, outdoor educator, and advocate for public land, Mike was the longtime Director of the Grand Canyon Field Institute and a year-round resident of Grand Canyon National Park.
Tickets, per individual, are only $5! Children ages 5 and under are admitted for free.
