SAGUARO: A Photographic Journey – Steve Enyeart and Jacelle Ramon-Sauberan, PhD.

Take an intimate and unique look through a different lens at the iconic king of the cactus! Local writer and photographer Steve Enyeart will share a walkthrough presentation of his recently published book, “SAGUARO”. His 3-year journey, searching for the most noble, unique, interesting and bizarre Saguaro cactus in the Southwest comes to life on the big screen in the Virginia G. Piper Charitable Trust Theater/Auditorium.

A special guest from the San Xavier District on the Tohono O’odham Nation, liaison, historian, educator, Jacelle Ramon-Sauberan, PhD will also share insight and history about harvesting the fruit of the Saguaro cactus and the spiritual significance of the Saguaro from a Native American perspective. Learn some little-known Saguaro trivia, factoids and botanical information in a fun, interactive forum, as we celebrate our own iconic sentinel of the desert, the Saguaro. Copies of the book, SAGUARO will be on hand for a book signing that will follow, along with a prize drawing! Don’t miss it!

There will be a book signing after the program, as well as a drawing for some cool prizes!
