Spirit of the Horse in Scottsdale History with Joan Fudala

Joan Fudala

Giddy-up, pardner!  Take a photo-rich ride through Scottsdale’s equestrian history at a talk presented by Scottsdale historian Joan Fudala.  From founder Winfield Scott’s mule Old Maude, to 70 years of Scottsdale’s beloved Arabian Horse Show, to 1950’s street signs that declared “Horses Have the Right-of-Way,” our community has embraced its horse culture.  Residents and visitors alike have enjoyed equestrian events, visits to Arabian ranches and rides into the McDowell Sonoran Preserve.  So saddle up, and immerse yourself in Scottsdale’s horse history.
