Young Guns II

The surviving members of the Regulators reunite for a more somber, reflective take on the Billy the Kid legend. Emilio Estevez returns as an increasingly unstable Billy, now haunted by violence and pursued by both the law and his own demons. The film explores themes of friendship, loyalty, and the cost of violence while maintaining the energy and style that made the original a success. With its framing device of an aged survivor telling his story, Young Guns II serves as both adventure and elegy, suggesting that the price of living by the gun extends far beyond the frontier era. Directed by Geoff Murphy, from a script by John Fusco.
This screening is part of our series Dead or Alive: Billy the Kid at the Movies, held in conjunction with the exhibition The Resurrection of Billy the Kid.
True West Magazine, Executive Editor, Bob Boze Bell will introduce the film and lead a post-screening discussion with the audience.
