As the new Western Spirit Membership Coordinator, members may be very familiar with Faith Boadt as she has reignited the membership program through its new rebuild. But her work ethic and role advancement has allowed her to engage with and assist many guests, artists and more.
We Are Western Spirit! is a new blog series highlighting individuals that work at Scottsdale’s Museum of the West and exemplify our mission of illuminating the past to better shape our future.
- WS: How long have you worked at the Museum?FB: I have worked at Western Spirit for nearly 3 years. I originally worked in our Gift Shop while also assisting with Ticketing. I now work as the Museum’s Membership Coordinator.
- WS: Where are you from?FB: I was born and raised here in Arizona.
- WS: Tell us about any hobbies or art you enjoy:FB: Outside of work, I enjoy writing and drawing. A big inspiration for my art comes from multiple online creators. For a time, I was going to school for a degree in Creative Writing, but I have now chosen to focus my time on my hobbies themselves alongside work.
- WS: What type of mediums do you use in your art?FB: Typically, I do sketch work. I carry my sketchbook with me everywhere. I have been teaching myself to draw digitally recently as well.
- WS: Other than your art, what other hobbies do you have?FB: I don’t have too many hobbies outside of my art and writing, but I do enjoy playing various video games and hanging out with my cats!
- WS: What’s your favorite part about working at Western Spirit?FB: Working at Western Spirit has allowed me to have a connection with Western art and history. The Museum allows me to see and experience various artists, broadening my knowledge of art as a whole. I enjoy my role as Membership Coordinator as it allows me to connect with our guests in a way that helps to improve and grow our Museum while prioritizing an almost personal connection with our guests.
- WS: What’s your favorite thing to do in Arizona?FB: My favorite thing to do here in Arizona is peruse different secondhand shops. Some of my favorite places include Zia’s Record Exchange and Bookmans
