Howard Calvert is a former Scottsdale Unified School District Elementary Teacher, teaching for over 30 years. He has been a docent at Western Spirit since the museum’s first year, starting in February of 2015.
Meet Howard Calvert!
Howard engages and educates our visitor public with great storytelling about the region he loves living in. Howard lives the Western characteristics of integrity, optimism, courage, creativity, and perseverance when he walks the Pacific Crest Trail, a walk over 2,600 miles long from the Mexico-California border all the way up to the Washington-Canada border. Howard conquered the epic Pacific Crest Trail hike at age 65 and at age 75, and dreams to do this five-month hike again at 85. Western Spirit is thrilled to call Howard our friend because he truly lives and embodies the Western life!
